Paramount Ups Joe Whitmore To EVP Worldwide Marketing & Creative Content

Paramount Pictures said today that Joe Whitmore has been promoted to EVP Worldwide Marketing and Creative Content. He will oversee creative global content initiatives and broadcast promotions for the studio’s theatrical campaigns as well as marketing strategies and special projects.

“Year after year, Joe has dazzled us with his creative acumen, his wit and sense of showmanship, while his campaigns win over the hearts and minds of moviegoers worldwide,” said Domestic Marketing President Steve Siskind, to whom Whitmore will report. “He has been invaluable in synergizing with our own Viacom company brands and channels.”

Whitmore, who had been SVP Creative Content since joining the studio in 2010, has led content efforts and broadcast promotions for such Paramount film franchises as Transformers, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible and Paranormal Activity as well as features including The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water — for which he won a Clio last year –– How To Train Your Dragon, Captain America, Thor and The Fighter. 

Prior to Paramount, Whitmore worked on pics including Fox Searchlight’s The Wrestler and Fantastic Mr. Fox and was VP Electronic Media and Programming at New Line Cinema, where he created marketing programming and broadcast integrations for such films as Wedding Crashers and Sex And The City. Earlier work included Legally Blonde and James Bond films. He won Golden Trailer Awards for The Wolf Of Wall Street and Megamind.
