Chloë Sevigny Making Directorial Debut In Short Film ‘Kitty’

Principal photography began in Los Angeles today on Kitty, a short film that will mark the directorial debut of actress Chloë Sevigny. She also wrote the adaptation of the Paul Bowles short story about a little girl who dreams of becoming a kitten and transforms into one.

The veteran actress has compiled a strong cast and crew as she makes her foray behind the camera. Ione Skye, Lee Meriwether and Edie Yvonne star, and also in the mix are DP Seamus McGarvey (Atonement, The Avengers), costume designer Jennifer Johnson (Hard Candy), production designer Chilly Nathan (Low Down) and David Fincher-regular casting director Laray Mayfield. Lizzie Nastro is producing with Christina Piovesan of First Generation Films.

Sevigny’s current projects include Netflix’s Bloodline and FX’s American Horror Story: Hotel, the latter up for a Golden Globe on Sunday.
