October Films To Produce ‘Mygrations’ For Nat Geo

National Geographic has commissioned UK-based October Films to produce Mygrations, which follows a ‘herd’ of 20 elite men and women attempting to complete the world’s most famous animal migration across Africa. In the show, the ‘human herd’ must brave harsh elements, deadly predators and each other as they attempt to endure Africa’s grueling Wildebeest migration through the Serengeti to the Mara River as they use their expert survival skills on a 200-mile, six-week journey.

Mygrations is a series that truly embraces National Geographic’s pillars of exploration and adventure,” said Tim Pastore, Nat Geo’s global president of original programming and production. “The human herd’s journey not only pushes the limits of human spirit and capability in extreme conditions, but demonstrates the strengths and resilience our ancestors needed to survive.”

The 6×60′ series will air on Nat Geo in the U.S. in spring this year, before airing globally on Nat Geo’s platform in 171 countries and 45 languages, as well as Spanish-language network Nat Geo Mundo. Mygrations was devised by October Films Creative Director Matt Robins. Jos Cushing, Matt Robins, Chris Muckle and Doug McCallie exec producer for October Films.
