NY Film Fest Producer Colin Stanfield Named Greenwich Int’l Film Fest Executive Director

Colin Stanfield, who most recently served as festival producer for the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s New York Film Festival, has been named executive director of the year-old Greenwich (CT) International Film Festival, effective immediately.

“A veteran non-profit cultural professional known for balancing the creative process of programming and curating with the challenge of producing a public program and live events,” the statement from GIFF said, Stanfield was previously managing director of the San Francisco Film Society and executive director of the Nantucket Film Festival.

stanfields-056GIFF’s sophomore outing will run June 9-12. Board members for the nonprofit group include Hollywood figures Colin Hanks, Emily Wachtel, David Duchovny, Michael Imperioli and Jeb Stuart.

“I am honored to be joining an organization that I very much admire,” Stanfield said in the GIFF statement. “I am truly inspired by the work the Greenwich International Film Festival has done, the merging of films, finance and philanthropy is inspiring and I am excited to be on board.”

GIFF says it was founded “to bridge the worlds of film, finance and philanthropy” by producing the festival and supporting local cultural causes. “Following a successful first year, the Greenwich International Film Festival is excited to continue its year-round arts program,” board chairman Wendy Stapleton Reyes said.
