‘Born This Way’ Renewed; ‘Bates Motel’ & ‘Damien’ Get Premiere Dates On A&E – TCA

A&E Network has renewed its docuseries Born This Way and set premiere dates for the fourth season of its flagship drama series Bates Motel and the debut of The Omen sequel series Damien, which moved over to A&E from Lifetime.

Produced by Bunim-Murray Productions, Born This Way follows a group of seven young adults born with Down syndrome, along with their family and friends in Southern California. Since its December 8th premiere, Born This Way has grown steadily across all demos, with adults 25-54 and total viewers up 83% and adults 18-49 up 72%.

“We have been overwhelmed and moved by the feedback we’ve received for Born This Way from viewers, as well as people with disabilities and their family members.” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President & Head of Programming, A&E Network. “It’s rare to be able to present a show that changes the way we see the world; we believe Born This Way is one of those shows.”

The network also announced it has slotted Monday, March 7 for the fourth season premiere of Psycho prequel Bates Motel and The Omen sequel Damien. Bates Motel will debut at 9 PM, followed by Damien at 10 PM. Bates Motel will return with ten new episodes that further reveal Norman’s continued downward spiral and the effect it has on the family. Damien follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 horror film, The Omen, who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Haunted by his past, Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist.
