‘Big Bang Theory’s Sex- & ‘Star Wars’-Themed Episode Sets Live+7 Ratings Record

Sex and Star Wars will do it every time. The December 17 episode featuring Sheldon and Amy’s big romantic night (i.e. they had sex while several of the gang were out seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has set a TV record for largest Live+7 viewer lift, according to CBS and Nielsen.

The episode added 7.18 million viewers in L+7, breaking the record of 6.95 million for the series premiere of ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder on September 25, 2014. Big Bang‘s December 17 episode is up 42% from its Live+Same Day average (24.43M from 17.25M), making it the season’s most-watched episode of a scripted program.
