The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 has just hit another box office target. After grossing $1.4 million domestically yesterday for a cume to date of $257.1M, it just crossed the $600M mark at the worldwide box office. Internationally, the fourth and last installment in the Hunger Games franchise grossed an estimated $1M internationally yesterday as well for an overseas cume of $343.6M after five weeks in release.
The picture bowed on November 20th during the Thanksgiving holiday and has been playing equally well between domestic and international audiences, with a 42% domestic to 57% international split.
The four Hunger Games franchise films have now grossed over $2.9B at the global box office to date and based on the most recent tallies, it’s not done playing out. In 91 markets over this past weekend, Mockingjay – Part 2 ran in with another $8.6M. Its worldwide cume to date is now $600.7M, with top markets outside the U.S. being the UK, Germany and China in that order.
