The Force with them was not. Fans went nuts at a midnight 3D screening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens when the projection system malfunctioned at the Arclight in Hollywood. With more sound than visual fury, the embedded Facebook clip recorded the crowd erupting into pandemonium. Moviegoer Erik Melendez posted the video, writing that ‘Projector at Star Wars midnight 3D show at the Arclight ruined, stopped, then started again towards the end of the movie. The movie was spoiled and everyone in the theater went crazy.’
Additionally, numerous Twitterers posted their frustration separately:

On the other side of the country, however, audiences at a handful of theaters in Manhattan and Brooklyn got a nice surprise at the end of their screenings: Star John Boyega turned up for what he called “surprise pop ups for opening night audiences in NYC!” Boyega posted later. “Had an amazing time meeting you all and again thank you for all the support.”
In addition to what he described as his theater pop-ups, Boyega hit the Apple Store in Soho:
And viewers who BBC America might be able to catch Boyega duel with David Beckham on The Graham Norton Show. That is, if you haven’t already watched your fill of SWTFA cast shenanigans on U.S. TV.
