Melissa McCarthy “Shocked” Over ‘Mike & Molly’ Cancellation

It appears Mike & Molly star Melissa McCarthy did not see the show’s cancellation coming. A day after Rondi Reed, who plays Peggy on the show, announced on her Facebook page that the CBS series’ upcoming sixth season would be its last, McCarthy tweeted that she’s “shocked and heartbroken” over the news.

Billy Gardell, who plays Molly’s (McCarthy) husband on the show also tweeted the news earlier this month.

Mike & Molly is moving to Wednesday at 8 PM starting January 6, reuniting with 2 Broke Girls, for a new Wednesday comedy block on CBS. The two veteran series aired together as part of CBS’ now-defunct Monday comedy block.
