‘Hamilton’ Will Hit The Road In Chicago Next Fall

With hit-hungry markets fiercely competing for dibs on Broadway juggernaut Hamilton, lead producer Jeffrey Seller had his pick of venues to launch the show’s beyond-Broadway engagements. Seller today said that the musical – with book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda – will begin performances September 27, 2016, at the newly named PrivateBank Theatre (formerly the Bank Of America Theatre), leading off its Broadway In Chicago subscription season.

Broadway in Chicago is a 15-year-old program of the Nederlander Organization, which also owns Hamilton‘s Broadway venue, the Richard Rodgers Theatre. BIC books shows for five Chicago theaters, including the Oriental and Cadillac Palace, along with the PrivateBank. Flexibility in programming the varied venues will allow for the run of Hamilton to be open-ended.

Hamilton is produced by Seller, Sander Jacobs, Jill Furman and The Public Theater. A London production is in the works and will be announced shortly.
