‘Spotlight’ Named Best Pic, Paul Dano, Brie Larson Win Acting Kudos From NY Film Critics Online

The New York Film Critics Online added their voice Sunday to a small chorus giving Spotlight their vote for Best Picture. The LA Film Critics Association and the Boston Society of Film Critics also delivered their ballots Sunday designating Spotlight their pick for Best Picture.

The New York online group (not to be confused with the New York Circle of Film Critics) also handed Spotlight awards for Screenplay (Tom McCarthy and Josh Springer), Ensemble Cast and Director (McCarthy).

Brie Larson was named Best Actress for her performance in Room and Paul Dano was voted Best Actor for his role as Brian Wilson in Love & Mercy. Rooney Mara earned kudos as Best Supporting Actress for her work in Carol and Mark Rylance topped the vote for Best Supporting Actor for Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies.
