‘Humans’ Headed To Amazon Prime In 2016

AMC’s Humans has an exclusive new streaming home. Endemol Shine International and Amazon said today that all eight episodes of the futuristic drama’s first season will be available on Amazon Prime in the spring.

AmazonPrimeInstantVideo__140423194249-575x164Produced by Kudos in association with Matador Films, the series based on the Swedish drama Real Humans sees AI-fueled and human-looking robots called Synths doing most of the labor and tasks for real people. When an upper-middle-class British family brings in Anita (Gemma Chan), insecurities and rivalries bloi over as her presence creates divisions in the home. William Hurt plays the original Synth 1.0 engineer.

The series had a solid ratings debut in June on AMC and was renewed for Season 2 in late July.

Humans is scripted by Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley and co-produced by AMC and the UK’s Channel 4. Executive producers are Derek Wax and Jane Featherstone.
