Jerry Seinfeld Sets Six Monthly Gigs At NYC’s Beacon Theatre

Best known as an uptown rock palace, the Beacon Theatre will host Jerry Seinfeld for six monthly shows under the rubric Jerry Seinfeld: The Homestand, beginning January 7, 2016 and continuing on February 18, March 2, April 14, May 5 and June 8. The deal was announced Tuesday morning by James L. Dolan, executive chairman of the Madison Square Garden Company, owner of the venue on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

“Jerry Seinfeld is one of the most influential and respected comedians of all time and through both his groundbreaking hit series, Seinfeld, and his newest venture, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, he has permanently changed both the modern comedy and television landscapes,” Dolan said, adding that “as a renowned New Yorker whose brand of comedy is rooted in the Big Apple, we are honored to welcome Jerry to The Beacon, his neighborhood theater.”

“My favorite theater in New York to perform in has always been the Beacon,” Seinfeld said, honestly. “Comedians live for certain houses that just feel ‘alive’ for some reason. The Beacon is that place for me.”

Seinfeld most recently produced and directed two Colin Quinn shows, New York Story (running off-Broadway) and, on Broadway, Long Story Short), along with the Crackle series Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. Tickets for the shows will go on sale December 7.
