Terri J. Vaughn has booked a recurring role on OWN’s megachurch drama series Greenleaf, from Craig Wright and Lionsgate TV. The series, currently in production in Atlanta, will premiere in 2016. It centers on the unscrupulous world of the powerful Greenleaf family and their sprawling megachurch, where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. Vaughn will play Melisse, the chief housekeeper at Greenleaf mansion. A devout busybody, she gives the kitchen staff hell — though she asks Jesus’ forgiveness first for yelling at them. Vaughn’s other TV credits include regular roles on The Steve Harvey Show, All Of Us and Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. She recently produced and starred in the Girlfriend’s Getaway franchise for TV One, via her Atlanta-based production company Nina Holiday Entertainment. Vaughn is repped by manager Adam Robinson and The Rookery.
Ellia English (The Jamie Foxx Show) has joined the cast of CBS’ medical drama Code Black in a recurring role. Based on the award-winning documentary by Ryan McGarry, Code Black takes place in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation. English plays Nurse Isabel Mendez, one of the nurses in the ER. Along with playing Aunt Helen on The Jamie Foxx Show, English’s other TV credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm and Good Luck Charlie. English is repped by Optimism Entertainment and Sovereign Talent.
