Quentin Tarantino To Receive Costume Designers Guild Honor; Ellen Mirojnick Getting Career Nod

Quentin Tarantino is joining the honors list at the 18th Costume Designers Guild Awards. He will receive the Distinguished Collaborator Award in recognition of his creative partnerships with costume designers at the CDG Awards ceremony February 23 at the Beverly Hilton.

Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick, who dressed Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko in Wall Street, Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct and won a Primetime Emmy for HBO’s Behind The Candelabra, will receive the guild’s Career Achievement Award. Her credits include Chaplin, Showgirls, Speed and Cocktail. She is currently working with Candelabra helmer Steven Soderbergh on Season 2 of Cinemax’s The Knick and on Angelina Jolie Pitt’s next movie project, Netflix’s First They Killed My Father. 

Tarantino’s latest movie, The Hateful Eight, bows i theaters on Christmas Day in 70mm screenings before going wide January 8. Kurt Russell will present him with the award.
