‘My So Called Wife’ Bravo Pilot Casts Rob Heaps As Male Lead

British actor Rob Heaps has landed the male lead opposite Inbar Lavi in My So Called Wife, Bravo’s hourlong dark comedy pilot from Adam Brooks, Paul Adelstein and Universal Cable Prods.

Written by Brooks and Adelstein and to be directed by Brooks, My So Called Wife follows Maddie (Lavi), a master-of-disguise con-artist who gets men and women to fall in love with her, marries them and then disappears with their money and just enough dirty inside information to guarantee they will never go to the police. But things get complicated when she falls in love with her latest mark, Ezra (Heaps), and three of her last victims —  two of them played by Parker Young and Stephen Bishop  — join together to track her down. Ezra has been stuck in his hometown working for his family business and thought his life would finally turn around when he married “Ava” (Maddie). However once she disappears, he realizes that unless he finds her, he’s cooked, done as a man.

Heaps recently completed filming the upcoming BBC drama Life in Squares, ITV’s Home Fires, and an adaptation of Agatha Christine’s And Then There Were None for Mammoth Screen/BBC One. He is repped by Gersh and AHA Talent Ltd.
