Anchor Bay Nabs U.S. Distribution Rights To Crime Drama ‘What Lola Wants’

Starz subsidiary Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired U.S. Rights, including Blu-ray/DVD, VOD and Digital HD, to What Lola Wants, a new crime drama from The Sheinberg’s The Bubble Factory.

What Lola Wants focuses on Lola, the 16-year old daughter of Hollywood royalty who fakes her own kidnapping to cover her running away from home. Falling in with a pickpocket named Marlo, himself on the run after stealing, then giving away, a million dollars of his crimelord mother’s money, things take a turn for the worse when Marco discovers who Lola really is and kidnaps her for real in order to repay his debt.

Rupert Glasson (Coffin Rock) writes and directs, with Monnie Wills, Ayisha Davies and Chris King producing. What Lola Wants stars Sophie Lowe (The Returned) as Lola, Beau Knapp (Southpaw) as Marlo, along with Dale Dickey (Iron Man 3), Robert Taylor (Longmire) and Charles S. Dutton (Alien 3).
