NBC Buys Family Comedy From ‘The Good Dinosaur’ Writer & Ben Queen

NBC has bought a single camera half-hour family comedy project from The Good Dinosaur writer Meg LeFauve, and A To Z creator Ben Queen.

Titled Poog, the ensemble comedy centers on a working mom who tries to get over her obsession with being the “perfect parent” by banding together with her friends to admit — and even celebrate — the messy reality of parenting. They share their daily screw ups, deepening their friendship, and their kids survive — and even thrive. LeFauve is co-writing with Lorien McKenna, and Christine Whitaker and exec producing with Queen. McKenna and Whitaker are co-exec producers. Warner Bros TV is the studio, where Queen is under an overall deal.

This is Queen’s third network sale this season under his WBTV overall deal. He has Powerless, based on DC Comics characters, set at NBC with a pilot production commitment. He also has comedy ESL set up at Fox, which he is executive producing with Masi Oka.

LeFauve, whose credits also include Pixar’s Inside Out, is repped by Verve, Charlie Gogolak of Zaftig Films, and David Krintzman of Morris, Yorn, Barnes, Levine, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner & Gellman. Queen is repped by UTA.
