‘W/ Bob & David’ Review: ‘Mr. Show’ Duo Back In Fine & Funny Form On Netflix

Yes, there have been onstage reunions, but the last time Bob Odenkirk and David Cross did a sketch comedy series together there was a Clinton in the White House. Well, debuting just less than a year before an election that may see another Clinton become president, the duo are back in W/ Bob & David on Netflix. And, as my video review above says, can we have some more?

All four episodes of the half-hour show are going up on the steaming service on November 13, and if you loved Mr. Show With Bob & David on HBO back in the late 1990s, as I did, then you are really going to love W/ Bob & David. Having lost none of their absurdist wit, the busy Better Call Saul and Arrested Development actors are fantastically foul-mouthed funny and full of a spark that has actually become more nimble with age. Combine it with the soon-to-debut Master Of None from Aziz Ansari and more Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on the way, and Netflix is hitting comedy home runs long and frequently.

With much of the supporting cast of Mr. Show on board plus great cameos from the likes of Keegan Michael-Key, W/ Bob & David — which also has an hourlong “making of’ special coming out too — is almost too short to binge, but it’s huge in scope and range.

So, check out my video review and tell us what you think — and don’t worry, we really tried hard not to ruin the jokes.
