Entertainment One’s Seville International will handle international sales of The Death And Life Of John F Donovan, the pic that marks the English-language debut of Quebec filmmaker Xavier Dolan. eOne is financing the pic, which will be in front of buyers at the American Film Market, which kicks off today.

Seville is taking worldwide rights except for France, where producers Lyla Films and Sons Of Manual will jointly sell rights with Seville, and in the U.S., where CAA is repping domestic. eOne and Quebec-based distribution arm Les Films Seville will distribute the film in Canada. Production is set to begin in spring 2016. Seville also sold Dolan’s Mommy and most recently this spring with It’s Only The End Of The World.

Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates star. The plot: 10 years after the death of an American TV star (Harington) he corresponded with as a teenager, a young actor recollects the pen-pal relationship he used to have with his past idol. The film explores the hardships of fame and hurdles of the movie business through the lives of both, now and then, and reflects on the issue of identity and diversity in Hollywood over the past decade.

Where-to-Invade-NextCanadian distributor Mongrel Media has acquired Canadian rights to Michael Moore’s documentary Where To Invade Next and will open the film January 8 in Toronto and Vancouver, with other cities to follow. The docu, which has been making the fall festival run, was acquired for U.S. distribution just after its Toronto Film Festival debut by the new company formed by Radius-TWC founders and co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego and Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League. The new label made the deal with Mongrel. The docu has a slot in the upcoming AFI Fest and hits U.S. theaters beginning December 23 in L.A. and New York.
