Martin Scorsese & Paramount Extend Deal Through 2019

Martin Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions has extended its overall feature deal with Paramount Pictures through 2019, setting the stage for the prolific director and studio to continue developing projects including The Devil In The White City with Leonardo DiCaprio starring, The Irishman with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Al Pacino, and a Leonard Bernstein biopic.

Liam Neeson and Andrew Garfield star and Scorsese produced and helmed. Jay Cocks and Scorsese wrote the script.

“Marty is one of our industry’s most prolific and celebrated filmmakers and he is also an integral part of the Paramount family,” said Paramount chairman and CEO Brad Grey in making the announcement. “We are looking forward to many more years and many more great films at Paramount Pictures.”

On the TV side, Paramount Television collaborated with Scorsese on HBO’s upcoming rock n roll drama series Vinyl which bows next year.

Paramount also teamed on Scorsese pics Hugo and Shutter Island and his documentaries Shine A Light and No Direction Home: Bob Dylan.
