‘Daddy’s Home’ Trailer: Will Ferrell & Mark Wahlberg Do Battle As Polar-Opposite Father Figures

Daddy's Home posterWill Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg starred together as mismatched cops in the 2010 action comedy The Other Guys. Five years later, they’re sharing the big screen again — this time playing paternal adversaries. Here’s the first new trailer in four months for Daddy’s Home, a comedy that pits two kids’ mild-mannered average-guy stepfather (Ferrell) against their slightly less-responsible biker-cool father (Wahlberg) in what the latter labels “a good old-fashioned dad-off.” Looks like the cards are kinda stacked against Husband 2: The Sequel. As co-star Thomas Haden Church chimes in, “If this guy was my wife’s ex, I’d put a bullet in my skull.” But apparently the stepdad can be killed by conventional weapons, as we witness him survive a motorcycle crash, a leap from a roof to a skate ramp and an ensuing run-in with live wires.

Sean Anders and John Morris co-directed the slapstick-heavy comedy, which they co-wrote with Brian Burns. The cast also includes Alessandra Ambrosio, Paul Scheer and Hannibal Buress. Paramount opens the romp from Red Granite Pictures on Christmas Day. Have a look at the trailer and tell us what you think.
