Humphrey Bogart Estate-Produced Noir ‘This Last Lonely Place’ Acquired By Indican

EXCLUSIVE: Indican Pictures has snapped up the film rights to This Last Lonely Place, a noir thriller executive produced by the Santana film division of the Humphrey Bogart Estate. Pic is eyeing an early 2016 debut on VOD in 180M homes worldwide as well as rental stores and chains. The film will also be opening abroad.

Directed and written by Steve Anderson, This Last Lonely Place tells the story of an unsuspecting cab driver (Rhys Coiro) who, on his last night on the job, finds himself roped into helping a wealthy investment banker (Xander Berkeley) cover up a brutal crime. Carly Pope, Jeananne Goossen and Richard Portnow also star. The Humphrey Bogart Estate is co-managed by Robbert de Klerk and Stephen Humphrey Bogart, son of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

Berkeley and Coiro will both be honored at the third annual Humphrey Bogart Film Festival from Oct. 21-25 in Key Largo, Florida — both the setting for the classic Bogie and Bacall film and the home of the actual boat Bogart captained in his Oscar-winning African Queen role. Stephen Bogart hosts the festival.
