CBS Developing 1950s Comedy From Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky

CBS has given a script commitment with penalty to Dick Ernest, a period multi-camera comedy from writer-producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (Hello Ladies, Trophy Wife, The Office). ABC Studios, where the duo is under an overall deal, is the studio.

Written/executive produced by Eisenberg and Stupnitsky, Dick Ernest is set in 1957. Dick Ernest, the patriarch of the Ernest family, has his mainstream values challenged when his beatnik nephew moves in and starts putting “modern” ideas into the heads of the rest of the family.

Eisenberg and Stupnitsky also have comedy pilot Gorgeous Morons at ABC Family, which the duo co-created/executive produce with Danny Chun (Grandfathered) who wrote the script. They are repped by WME and Mosaic.
