Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’: S.J. Clarkson Directs First Two Episodes

Marvel just announced that UK director S.J. Clarkson helmed the first two episodes of Jessica Jones. Clarkson, who has directed shows including Vinyl (HBO), Orange Is The New Black (Netflix) and pilots Dig (USA) and Hunted (BBC/HBO/Cinemax) also served as an executive producer on the premiere episode.

Based on the Marvel Comics series Alias, the second installment of Marvel’s line of Netflix shows stars Krysten Ritter as title character Jessica Jones. A former superhero who hangs up her cape following a serious trauma, she subsequently going into business as a private detective focusing on cases involving superpowered individuals. The series also stars David Tennant as Kilgrave, a supervillain tied to Jones’ reasons for dropping out of the Superhero game, Mike Colter as the hero Luke Cage (AKA Power Man), Rachael Taylor, and Carrie-Anne Moss. All episodes premiere on Netflix November 20.
