Bones creator Hart Hanson has mastered the comedic crime drama procedural genre with the long-running Fox series. He has now teamed with Bones writer Gene Hong for a new project in the arena, which has been set up at Fox. The untitled one-hour, penned by Hong, centers on a socially inept billionaire who helps the LAPD solve crimes. Hong and Hanson executive produce for 20th Century Fox TV where Hanson is under an overall deal.
Hanson most recently created and executive produced another crime procedural for Fox with comedic elements, Backstrom starring Rainn Wilson.
Hong previously worked on Community and developed a half-hour comedy for NBC based on his friendship with The Voice coach Adam Levine. On the feature side, Hong wrote the tennis dramedy Break Point, produced and distributed by Broad Green Pictures, which has re-teamed with Hong for a second feature, now in development.
Hong and Hanson are repped by WME.
