Stuart Epstein Tapped To Be Evolution Media Capital’s Co-Managing Partner

Stuart Epstein knows the media business well from his experiences as NBCUniversal’s CFO and as Global Head of Morgan Stanley’s Media and Communications Group where he helped Comcast to buy NBCU from General Electric. Now he will run global growth initiatives — including potential entertainment and sports investments — as Co-Managing Partner at Evolution Media Capital, Creative Artists Agency’s investment and advisory arm.

“Stuart has been at the epicenter of the media and entertainment industry for the past two decades, and no one is better equipped to help EMC provide the highest level of service and capture every opportunity possible for its clients,” CAA President Richard Lovett says.

EMC has served as an advisor in more than 70 deals since it was launched in 2008. Clients have included Madison Square Garden, Tribeca Enterprises (owner of the Tribeca Film Festival), and The Mark Gordon Company.

It’s also looking to grow via Evolution Media Partners — a collaboration with investment firm TPG Growth and entertainment company Participant Media. It was created in 2013 to invest in global media, sports and entertainment, and manages $500 million. EMP has made 13 investments in growth-stage companies.

Epstein says that the organizations are “capitalizing on the convergence of traditional banking and media operations and [are] doing so at the nexus of content and distribution.”
