Turner Broadcasting System has hired Lauren Hurvitz, formerly of Starcom Mediavest Group, as its EVP and chief communications and corporate marketing officer, the company announced today. In the new role, Hurvitz will be responsible for brand reputation across all platforms, internal and external strategic communications, media relations, and publicity. She’ll oversee global communications and corporate marketing, reporting to chairman and CEO John Martin Jr.
In the announcement, Martin cited Hurvitz’s “deep experience that encompasses advertising, technology, digital, cable brands, and more.” He said her appointment is intended to “build on the momentum across our portfolio of brands and invest in our company’s next generation of growth and development.”
Prior to her job at Starcom, part of Publicis Groupe, where she has served as global chief communications & brand marketing officer since 2012, Hurvitz was head of global corporate communications and events at AOL. She’s also held positions at MTV Networks and strategic commincations firm Robinson Lerer & Montgomery.
