‘A War’ Director Tobias Lindholm Signed To Pen Upcoming Paul Greengrass Actioner ‘The Tunnels’

Tobias Lindholm, whose A War recently debuted at the Venice Film Festival, will team with director Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips, The Bourne Ultimatum) on The Tunnels, an adaptation of author Greg Mitchell’s upcoming nonfiction book about a group of West Germans attempting to sneak into East Berlin with the aid of American news networks.

Lindholm, a writer and director best known for his scripts for director Thomas Vinterberg’s A Hijacking and The Hunt, wrote and created the international television drama Borgen. He’ll write the screenplay for The Tunnels, adapting Mitchell’s manuscript. He’s repped by WME.

The film will be produced by Mark Gordon, who brought the idea to Greengrass and attached him to direct. Gordon and his head of film, Michele Wolkoff, then took the project to FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder who will also produce. Ben Browning and Glen Basner from FilmNation Entertainment and Christos Konstantakopoulos will serve as Executive Producers.

“We have been enormous fans of Tobias for quite some time and have been diligent about finding something for him,” said Gordon and Ryder. “And after hearing his take on Greg’s upcoming manuscript we couldn’t go with anyone else.” Author Mitchell has written more than a dozen nonfiction titles, including “Vonnegut and Me” and “Dead Reckoning.”
