Fandango Orders ‘Naked Lunch’ With Phil Rosenthal & David Wild


Emmy-winning Everybody Loves Raymond creator Phil Rosenthal and Emmy-nominated writer David Wild are launching Naked Lunch, a new online Fandango talk series that is inspired by the duo’s lunches with celebrities. Naked Lunch marks Rosenthal’s foray into original online entertainment.

In a statement the duo exclaimed, “This show is being created with Fandango so we can share our lunchtime fun with the world — and more importantly write off our meals as legitimate business expenses.  We look forward to intimate conversations with a wide range of smart and funny people hungry for a little movie talk and a little lunch.”

Fandango Logo NewNaked Lunch is currently in the development stage with guests still to be announced. There’s talk, though not definite, to shoot the show at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles at Fairfax Ave. and 3rd Street — a destination for auteurs to have breakfast and kibitz, read Mike Figgis and the late Paul Mazursky. Naked Lunch guests will receive the show’s maximum budgetary allowance of $12 to spend any way they like on food and quite possibly beverage.  Talking about their favorite movie of all time is a must during mealtime.

Rosenthal’s food series I’ll Have What Phil’s Having premieres on Sept. 28 on PBS at 10/9c, in which the TV show creator travels to six culinary capitals around the world to feast on that city’s specialty.

Naked Lunch is a production of Fandango Movieclips, the online ticket seller’s video brand and distribution platform. Fandango Movieclips also produces a slate of original video series that covers all aspects of the moviegoing experience, including Movie3Some, I Love Movies, Weekend Ticket, FrontRunners, Mom’s Movie Minute and Reel Kids.
