HBO’s Bernie Madoff Movie ‘The Wizard Of Lies’ Adds Five To Cast

House Of Cards‘ Nathan Darrow, Kathrine Narducci (Power),  Steve Coulter (The Hunger Games), Kristen Connolly (Zoo) and Diana Henriques have been cast opposite Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer in The Wizard Of Lies, HBO Films’ movie about disgraced financier Bernie Madoff.

Directed by Barry Levinson, The Wizard Of Lies is described as a look behind the scenes at Madoff’s (De Niro) massive Ponzi scheme, how it was perpetrated on the public and the trail of destruction it left in its wake, both for the victims and Madoff’s family.

Darrow, repped by Harden-Curtis and Suskin Management, will play Andrew Madoff, Bernie (De Niro) and Ruth’s (Pfeiffer) younger son. Andy worked at the firm with Bernie and died of cancer in September 2014. Bernie’s older son, Mark, who committed suicide, is being played by Alessandro Nivola.

Narducci, repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Clear Talent Group and Headline Talent, is Eleanor Squillari, Bernie’s longtime secretary.

Coulter will play Martin London, Mark’s father-in-law (stepfather to Mark’s wife, Stephanie) and high-powered attorney. Part of Mark and Andrew’s legal counsel, he discovered Mark’s body.

Connolly is Stephanie Madoff, Mark Madoff’s (Nivola) wife. Hank Azaria also co-stars.

Henriques plays herself, New York Times reporter and the author of The Wizard of Lies: Bernie Madoff And The Death Of Trust. the book on which the HBO film is based. Henriques, the first writer to visit Madoff in prison, interviewed the convicted swindler in 2011, and the exclusive interview was published in The Times in February 2011.

Levinson executive produces The Wizard of Lies along with De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Berry Welsh; Jason Sosnoff co-executive produces. The film was written by John Burnham Schwartz, Sam Baum and Sam Levinson, based on Henriques’ book, with Laurie Sandell’s Truth And Consequences as additional source material.
