Keith David To Star In OWN Drama Series ‘Greenleaf’

Keith David (Community, Enlisted) will topline Greenleaf, OWN’s megachurch drama series from Craig Wright and Lionsgate TV.

The straight-to-series drama focuses on the unscrupulous world of the Greenleaf family and their sprawling Memphis megachurch, where scandalous secrets and lies are as numerous as the faithful. Emmy winner David will play Bishop James Greenleaf, the charming and charismatic but brilliantly manipulative leader of Greenleaf World Ministries. He joins previously cast Lynn Whitfield, who plays Bishop Greenleaf’s imperious wife Lady Mae, Merle Dandridge as Lady Mae’s estranged daughter Grace, and Desire Ross as Grace’s teenage daughter, Sophia. Oprah Winfrey and Wright are exec producing.
