Governors Awards: ‘Albert Nobbs’ Duo Tapped To Produce

Now that the Academy has lined up producers for the 88th Academy Awards in David Hill and Reginald Hudlin, the Oscar org has pivoted to its seventh annual Governors Awards. It has tapped Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis, the principals in Mockingbird Films, to produce the event set for November 14 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland.

This years honorary Oscar Governors Awards are set for Spike Lee and Gena Rowlands. Debbie Reynolds will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Those honors were unveiled Tuesday.

Together Lynn and Curtis have produced five films: Last Days In The Desert, 5 To 7, The Face Of Love, Albert Nobbs which received three Oscar nominations, and the upcoming The Sweet Life. Lynn has served the past two years as producer of the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Awards Presentation & Live Read. Before Mockingbird, Curtis spent 15 years at Amblin and DreamWorks producing films including Minority Report and AI and co-producing Saving Private Ryan.
