Alchemy Hires Former Sony Home Entertainment Exec Jack Talley In Physical Distribution

Alchemy has hired Jack Talley as the Exec VP of Physical Distribution to oversee sales and the overall strategy of the company’s division. He will report to Alchemy CEO Bill Lee. Talley most recently worked for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for 10 years, most recently as the Exec VP. Prior to joining SPHE, Talley oversaw MGM’s Grocery and Drug sales division and played an integral role in the strategic development and implementation of the Scan Based Trading business model.

The hiring of Talley follows Alchemy’s acquisition earlier this summer of the film distribution assets of ANconnect, the physical distribution arm of Anderson Media Corporation, bringing with it clients such as DreamWorks Animation, Microsoft and WellGo USA. Alchemy this summer also formed a strategic distribution alliance with ARC Entertainment, a big supplier of faith and family content to Walmart and other national retailers.

Because of this, Alchemy says it’s now the largest, non-studio aggregator for Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Sam’s Club. Alchemy develops tailored distribution strategies, from theatrical release to DVD, digital, VOD, and television.

Talley’s work experiences also have included Best Video, ETD, Sound Video, Media Home Entertainment and Celebrity Home Entertainment. Talley has a BBA from the University of Oklahoma and an MBA from the University of North Texas.

“Jack brings to Alchemy a wealth of knowledge from his experience working with both independent and major studio home entertainment releases,” said Alchemy’s Lee. “He is the optimal executive to continue Alchemy’s success in the physical distribution space and we are very fortunate to have him on our team.”
