Tim Roth, Sofia Vergara, Parker Posey & More Join ‘The Brits Are Coming’

A mob of actors has signed on to James Oakley’s broad comedy The Brits Are Coming. Tim Roth, Parker Posey, Maggie Q, Alice Eve and Stephen Fry are joining Uma Thurman, who along with Roth play an eccentric British con-artist couple Harriet and Peter Fox.

In debt to Ivanka, a notorious gangster played by Maggie Q, after a poker game goes south, the couple flee to Los Angeles. There they approach a former associate played by Fry, who secretly sells their whereabouts. With the gangster hot on their trail, the pair scheme to win back the money by executing a jewel theft operation involving Peter’s ex-wife (Eve) and her new husband, Gabriel. Production is currently underway in New York City.

Producers Cassian Elwes, Robert Ogden Barnum, JC Chandor and Dave Hansen made the announcement today. Oakley co-wrote The Brits Are Coming with Alex Michaelides. Ike Suri, Jaclyn Ann Suri, Larry Safir, Papu Butani, Quinn Meyers, Johnny Mac, Dee Haslam, Matthew Helderman, David Kyle, Dom Genest and Luke Taylor are executive producing with Elliot Michael Smith co-producing the project. Fortitude International, co-founded by Nadine de Barros, Barnum and Daniel Wagner, is handling foreign. Producers currently hold US rights.
