Summer is coming to an end but it is still hot out there, and in primetime last night, it was all about NFL preseason action. With delays in about 6% of the country because of games, CBS saw its numbers tentatively tackled in the end zone – at least for the time being. As it is, Big Brother (2.2/8) was the highest-rated show of the night and rose 5% among adults 18-49 from last week, though those numbers are more than likely inflated.

Over on Fox, the Tennessee Titans clashed with the St. Louis Rams and walked away with a 27-14 victory. The big game of the second-to-last weekend of NFL exhibition games (and also the debut night of Fear The Walking Dead on AMC), scored a 1.4/5 win for Fox for the night in 18-49. Fox was also first in viewers with 4.345 million watching Titans-Rams. For the game itself, the hour-by-hour breakdown in early numbers had 8-9 PM drawing a 1.8/6 and 9-10 PM getting a 1.6/5. The first hour had 5.69 million viewers while the second slot had 5.23 million.

There was no football on ABC, but the network got a bit of a Hail Mary pass with a Bachelor In Paradise (1.3/4) getting a bit of a bump on the competitive night. The romance reality show was up 5% among viewers and even in the key demo compared with last week. ABC finished the night with the Katrina: 10 Years After The Storm With Robin Roberts (0.6/2) special. Compared to the special 20/20 that the GMA co-host fronted back on April 28, last night was down 329%. But that was on a Tuesday at the end of the 2014-15 season, not a Sunday at the end of summer.
