Holt McCallany Flies With Eastwood’s ‘Sully’; ‘Good After Bad’ Casts Leads

Holt McCallany will be flying the friendly (and heroic) skies alongside Tom Hanks in Sully, Clint Eastwood’s upcoming film about Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. The film examines the near-miraculous water landing the US Airways pilot pulled off in 2009, after an engine was damaged by a flock of geese shortly after takeoff, as well as the Sullenberger’s character and life. McCallany is playing Mike Cleary, President of the U.S. Airline Pilots Association who is an ally of Sully and an advocate for his courage and talent.

McCallany’s upcoming roles include the Beast, the lead antagonist and ringleader of the Aryan Nation prison gang, in Shot Caller; one of the central characters in Paramount’s Monster Trucks; and the lead role in The Perfect Guy from Screen Gems. He’s recently been seen in Run All Night, Cyber, Gangster Squad, and Bullet To The Head. He’s repped by APA and Dave Fleming at Atlas Artists.

Melora Walters
, Maddie Hasson and Billy Burke have been cast in Good After Bad, an indie from first-time feature director Anne-Marie Hess. The film follows the relationship between a bullied student, Shelly (Hasson), whose home life is in shambles, and a wealthy eccentric, Wes (Burke), with no friends and issues with women. Things take a turn when Wes offers to become the teen’s guardian. Walters will portray Shelly’s mother, Victoria, a former society type now feeling the aftereffects of years of hard living who is manic, off her meds and living with an alcoholic ex-con.

Hasson’s role as Shelly is a smart, attractive,  high school outcast and aspiring song writer described as artistic, perceptive and vulnerable. Desperate for structure and a place to fit in,  Shelly is very grateful when Wes comes into her life. Good After Bad is produced by Matt Leutwyler via his Accelerated Matter production/distribution banner. Morgan Spurlock is exec producing through his Warrior Poets banner.

Walters recently finished shooting Sugar Mountain, opposite Jason Momoa and Cary Elwes, and Sex, Death, and Bowling, opposite Selma Blair, Adrian Grenier and Bailey Chase. Her credits include The Master, The Butterfly Effect, Cold Mountain, Boogie Nights and Big Love. She’s repped by APA, Shelter Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman. Hasson ill next be seen in the Hank Williams, Sr. biopic I Saw The Light, and was recently seen on ABC Family’s Twisted. She’s repped by UTA, Coast To Coast Talent Group and The Beddingfield Company. Burke is repped by Gersh and Elaine Meyer Management.
