‘Inbetweeners’ Iain Morris & Damon Beesley Hang Fudge Park Film/TV Shingle

Iain Morris and Damon Beesley Inbetweenersco-wrote and executive produced the hit UK TV series The Inbetweeners which then led to the hugely successful Inbetweeners Movie franchise and over $130M at the British box office. The duo sold previous production company, Bwark, to the Zodiak Media Group in 2011 and has now founded film and TV shingle, Fudge Park. Joining Morris and Beesley as co-founders are Simon Wilson, Phil Gilbert, Mark Lesbirel and Leo Martin.

The company has already entered a distribution and development deal with BBC Worldwide, who will oversee global sales of finished programs and formats. There are also orders in from the BBC and Channel 4 while a slate of comedy films is under development.

The Inbetweeners, a phenomenon in the UK, began as a TV series at Channel 4’s E4 and moved to the big screen courtesy of Film4 in 2011. At the time, it grossed a massive $75M at the UK box office and became Britain’s most successful indie comedy ever. A sort of spin on American Pie, it centers on a group of randy but loveable boys straddling the line between being dorks and being cool. Last year’s sequel, which Morris and Beesley made their feature directorial debut, scored the biggest-ever opening day for a comedy at the UK box office and went on to gross about $56M. A U.S. series remake at MTV aired in 2012, but was not picked up for a 2nd season despite critical praise.

Morris and Beesley have also co-written episodes of cult HBO sitcom Flight Of The Conchords, and Morris is script editor for Channel 4’s multi award-winning comedy Peep Show.
