‘Chicago Med’ Adds Rachel DiPillo As New Regular

Rachel DiPillo, who has been recurring on Jane The Virgin, has been cast as a new series regular on Chicago Med, the upcoming Chicago Fire spinoff series from Wolf Films and Universal TV. She is one of three new female regulars the show is planning to add in the wake of the departure of original cast member Laurie Holden. DiPillo will play Dr. Sarah Reese, an emergency room intern who’s fresh out of medical school. She joins Torrey DeVitto, who was cast yesterday.

The second spinoff of Chicago Fire, following Chicago PD, Chicago Med revolves around the team at a Chicago hospital. Starring Oliver Platt, S. Epatha Merkerson, Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta, Colin Donnell and Brian Tee, it premieres Tuesday, November 17.

DiPillo, repped by Treadwell Entertainment Group, Paradigm and Steve Younger, got on NBC’s radar this past season when she was cast as a lead in the network’s comedy pilot Cuckoo.
