Fast National Ratings Inflated By Football

The fast national TV ratings, already under assault for providing a distorted view of programs’ performance as an increasing portion of watching is done on a time-shifted/on-demand basis, are even less reliable this morning because of NFL preemptions on affiliate stations of all five broadcast networks last night. The preseason football games were headlined by the return to the field of Deflategate-embroiled New England Patriots star Tom Brady. I will update with Live+Same Day numbers later today.

In the inflated fast nationals, CBS’ Big Brother led the pack with a 2.4 in the 18-49 demographic, followed by Under The Dome and Dateline (1.4) and Mistresses (1.1).
