Max Adler Powers Up For ‘Gods & Secrets’, ‘This Is Happening’ Gets Theatrical Release

Glee‘s Max Adler has made his plate a bit fuller, taking two new roles and returning to another. He’s signed on to appear in Adi Shankar’s Gods & Secrets, a deconstructionist take on superheroes that examines personal foibles, celebrity culture and moral quandaries involving public figures who are also super-powered. Adler joins already announced cast members Kellan Lutz, RJ Mitte, Jackson Rathbone, Denise Richards and Jane Seymour. Adler also signed on as an associate producer.

The actor has also been cast in an upcoming Woody Allen film set to begin filming in Los Angeles in the coming weeks. He’ll appear alongside Jeannie Berlin, Anna Camp, Jesse Eisenberg, Stephen Kunken, Sari Lennick, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Paul Schneider, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott and Bruce Willis. Adler has also agreed to return to ABC Family’s Switched At Birth for the second half of the show’s fourth season. He’s repped by Justice & Ponder, CESD and Myman Grenspan.

This Is Happening is officially happening. The indie comedy, which received final financing thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign on Seed&Spark, will see theatrical release thanks to a partnership between Seed&Spark and Paladin. It will begin theatrical release on October 2, 2015. The film follows an incompatible brother and sister tasked with taking their elderly grandmother to an assisted living facility. When she runs away, the siblings must track her down, leading them into a series of misadventures involving a stash of marijuana, a stolen car, and the stuffed body of a beloved pet.

Starring James Wolk (Zoo) and Mickey Sumner (The End Of The Tour) as the siblings, with Cloris Leachman as their grandmother, Happening was written and directed by Ryan Jaffe. Scott Einziger, Lisa Barrett McGuire, and Matthew F. Weinberg produce. Jaffe is repped by Paradigm’s Mark Ross and Mosaic’s Emily Rose.
