Nathan Lane & Debra Messing Will Headline Actors Fund Readings

EXCLUSIVE: The odd couple will take the podium for “Bridging The Gap And Other Short Plays By Wesley Taylor,” along with additional cast members to be announced. The event will be presented as an evening of readings of a collection of six new short plays by the actor and playwright to benefit The Actors Fund. The one-night-only event is set for October 26 at New World Stages in the Broadway Theater District. The evening will consist of six 10-minute play readings.

Lane has starred in over 20 Broadway shows (including The Addams Family, in which Taylor also appeared), has won two Tony Awards and was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2008. He’s appeared in over 30 films and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006. His television credits have led to six primetime Emmy nominations.

Messing, who worked with Taylor on the series Smash, is best known for the television series Will & Grace. She has appeared in over 15 films and on Broadway in John Patrick Shanley’s Outside Mullingar in 2014, and currently stars in NBC’s The Mysteries of Laura.

“This community is constantly giving back to help others, and we’re continually humbled by their generosity,” said Actors Fund President Joe Benincasa. “Everyone’s donation of time and talent will not only make for a one-of-a-kind night but also help The Actors Fund to be there in times of need for everyone in performing arts and entertainment across the country.” For details, see
