George Clooney Will Topline Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ Debut

Revealing his ongoing mastery of all things social media, Colbert tweeted the announcement this morning:

The Tomorrowland star knows; don’t fret about it. It’s been a busy few days for Colbert, who’s shifted into full-frontal promotional gear for his September 8 debut as host of CBS late-night Jimmys challenger (Fallon on NBC and Kimmel on ABC). Colbert also took time out to drop into The Daily Show┬átaping as first-among-equals on Jon Stewart’s final outing. It was a love fest that included every star who owed a significant part of his or her success to Stewart, including John Oliver, Larry Wilmore and Jason Jones. “We owe you,” Colbert said, sincerely.
