Stephen Tobolowsky Concert Pic ‘The Primary Instinct’ Goes To FilmBuff; Jessica Gomes Joins Bruce Willis Action Comedy

Stephen Tobolowsky‘s confessional concert film, The Primary Instinct, has been licensed worldwide by FilmBuff, and will be available on all major on-demand platforms beginning September 22, 2015. Filmed from a series of performances Tobolowsky gave in front of live audiences of a thousand people, the film weaves together stories of his childhood, his family life as an adult, and the experience of being a character actor. Along the way, Tobolowsky examines the question of just why people have always told stories to one another.

Written and performed by Tobolowsky, The Primary Instinct is the directorial debut of Tobolowsky’s longtime collaborator David Chen. Funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign, it’s produced by Jason Hakala, Blaine Ludy, and Matt Swanson, and exec produced by Tobolowsky, Chen, and Michael Gaston. The Film is a production. The deal was negotiated between Chris Perez of Donaldson Califf, representing the filmmaker, and Jake Hanly of FilmBuff.

A veteran character actor with more than 230 film and tv credits to his name, Tobolowsky is best known for his iconic turn in Groundhog Day as insurance salesman Ned Ryerson, and as Sammy Jenkis in Christopher Nolan’s Memento. Currently appearing as Principle Bell on ABC’s The Goldbergs, Tobolowsky also hosts the monthly autobiographical podcast The Tobolowsky Files, and the weekly Problems – An Advice Podcast. He’s repped by Innovative Artists, and Framework Entertainment.

Jessica Gomes has joined the cast of the upcoming Bruce Willis-starring action comedy directed by Mark and Robb Cullen. The film centers on a Los Angeles private detective whose life is sent into chaos when his dog is stolen by a notorious gang, blackmailing him into doing the gang’s bidding while being pursued by an assortment of shady people. Gomes plays Willis’ love interent Nola, runaway sister of two of the characters gunning for Willis’ P.I..

Also appearing in the film are John Goodman, David Arquette, Jason Momoa, Thomas Middleditch, Famke Janssen, Stephanie Sigman, Tyga, Ken Davitian, Victor Ortiz, Adrian Martinez, Kal Penn, and Adam Goldberg. Mark and Robb Cullen are producing along with Nicolas Chartier, Zev Foreman and Laura Ford. Patrick Newall, Jonathan Deckter, and Stephen Eads exec produce.

Gomes, an Australian model and actress, was recently seen in Transformers: Age of Extinction. She’s repped by manager Susan Yoo.
