’13 Hours’ Trailer: Michael Bay Bengazi Drama Peers Into The Myth

Michael Bay is back with 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Bengazi, a film whose topic is sure to make holiday dinners civil, polite affairs. Based on the nonfiction book 13 Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff, the film follows a group of US special forces who find themselves forced to make tough decisions in the chaos surrounding the September 11-12, 2012 attack on the U.S. Diplomatic compound in Benghazi that took the lives of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, as well as the adjacent attack on a nearby facility in which two CIA contractors were killed. Like the book upon which its based, it probably won’t get into the conspiracy theories surrounding the attacks, going instead for an on-the-ground view of the attacks through the eyes of serious badasses. It stars James Badge Dale, John Krasinski, Toby Stephens, Pablo Schreiber, Max Martini, David Denman, Dominic Fumusa, and Freddie Stroma. Bay directs from a script by Chuck Hogan, and Erwin Stoff produces. It hits theaters January 15, 2016.
