‘Batman V. Superman’ Trailer: Comic Con Gets Best Look Yet At Dawn Of DC Universe

A new trailer for Warner BrosBatman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice wowed the crowd in Hall H at Comic-Con this morning during the studio’s presentation. This is the lynchpin of the DC Universe pics that WB is using to launch a series of stand-alone and sequel pics that mine the lucrative comic universe from Aquaman to Wonder Woman and of course the Justice League where they all come together (a la Marvel’s fairly successful The Avengers.)

New to fans in this trailer: Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) turns out to have been in Metropolis at the end of Man Of Steel. His experience in the destruction of the city is why he’s motivated to oppose Superman (Henry Cavill). So that sets that up the “V” in the title. Meanwhile, Jesse Eisenberg is shown playing Lex Luthor like a sarcastic kid. Also shown: A single scene of Wonder Woman Gal Gadot kicking — and the crowd goes wild.

Affleck, Cavill, Gadot and Eisenberg were onstage during the presentation with co-stars Amy Adams, Holly Hunter and Jeremy Irons.

The film has a March 26, 2016 release date.
