“Your brother is a violent, paranoid schizophrenic,” is how one character describes Ronnie Kray to his identical twin Reggie. “What I’m trying to tell you is that he’s off his rocker.” Tom Hardy plays both sides of this volatile coin in Legend, writer-director Brian Helgeland’s movie about the legendary two-man mob that dominated and fascinated London in the 1950s and ’60s. Universal has posted the first official U.S. trailer for the movie, which also stars Emily Browning, David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, Tara Fitzgerald and Taron Egerton.
Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producers with Chris Clark, Quentin Curtis and Cross Creek Pictures’ Brian Oliver. It opens October 2 in the U.S. StudioCanal is handling the U.K., France, Germany and Australia/New Zealand.
