Lifetime Sets ‘Project Runway Junior’; Renews ‘Project Runway All-Stars’

Lifetime is aiming for the younger set and hoping to build on the success of other kids competition shows with Project Runway Junior, a new series showcasing designers ages 14-17. It’s slated to premiere this fall. The network also renewed Project Runway All Stars for debut in early 2016. The 14th season of flagship series Project Runway premieres August 6.

Tim Gunn will co-host Project Runway Junior with supermodel Hannah Davis. Judges include fashion designer Christian Siriano — 2007 winner of Project Runway — and Aya Kanai, executive fashion editor at Cosmopolitan and Seventeen. Production is set to begin this summer in New York. Competition shows for kids have been very successful, such as Gordon Ramsay’s cooking competition series MasterChef Junior on Fox and La Voz Kids on Telemundo.

Project Runway Junior is produced by The Weinstein Company, Sara Rea Productions and Full Picture. Bob and Harvey Weinstein are exec producing with Patrick Reardon, Barbara Schneeweiss, Sara Rea, Jane Cha, Desiree Gruber, Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue, David Hillman and Gunn.

Meanwhile, production is underway on the upcoming Season 5 of Project Runway All Stars from The Weinstein Company and Bunim/Murray Prods. Alyssa Milano is returning as host, with judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman, and mentor, Marie Claire Senior Fashion Editor, Zanna Roberts Rassi. Harvey and Bob Weinstein exec produce with Patrick Reardon, Barbara Schneeweiss, Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Rob Bagshaw, Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and David Hillman.
