Fox Sets Fall Premiere Dates, ‘Scream Queens’ Gets Two-Hour Debut

Fox today officially unveiled its fall premiere dates, two of which had already leaked courtesy of Empire star Taraji P Henson and Scream Queens‘ Emma Roberts. Carrying the Primetime Emmy Awards on the Sunday before Premiere Week, Fox will use the telecast to kick off its fall rollout, which will stick to tradition, with most nights turning the fall nights on during Premiere Week. High-profile new entry, Ryan Murphy’s horror comedy Scream Queens, is getting a two-hour premiere on Sept. 22, with Fox’s new comedy block of freshmen Grandfathered and The Grinder joining the Tuesday lineup the following Tuesday.

Scream Queens is getting an extra boost with a rebroadcast of the two-hour premiere the first Thursday of the season, Sept. 24. Fox’s regular Thursday series, Bones and Sleepy Hollow, will start their new seasons a week later, on Oct. 1.

After using Friday for extra sampling of new shows for the first couple of weeks, Fox will switch to MasterChef Jr. and World’s Funniest on Nov. 6.
