‘Jurassic World’ Stretches Universal’s Market Share Lead Over Disney, Despite ‘Inside Out’

While Disney had a solid opening weekend for its Pixar film Inside Out, Universal Pictures has solidified its hold on first place in the 2015 Domestic Box Office Market Share race thanks to another strong weekend from Jurassic World, the film that allowed it to leapfrog over both Disney and Warner Bros for top spot. The studio is on course to break all its own records, thanks to Jurassic World, Furious 7, Pitch Perfect 2 and Fifty Shades Of Grey, and it has the Seth MacFarlane-directed Ted 2 coming  shortly, and then Straight Outta Compton, which has sleeper hit written all over it. Disney’s big hope of catching Uni is Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens in December, but will it be too late by then?
